About Us Our Vision: To provide leadership for the transformation of global healthcare toward compassionate and caring models, supported by law and social policy, that bridge our physical, psychological and spiritual selves. The Institute's President, Michael H. Cohen, JD, MBA, has been a pioneer in scholarly investigation of law and policy pertaining to integrative medicine. Beginning with publication of Complementary and Alternative Medicine: Legal Boundaries and Regulatory Perspectives (Johns Hopkins University Press, 1998), he has been involved in numerous scholarly and policy initiatives to help map the field Our distinguished Board of Directors and Advisory Board include noted scholars and professionals in law, healthcare policy, ethics, and other disciplines, as well as leaders of the complementary care, medical, and allied health professions. Collectively, we offer expertise and resources to governments, institutions, professions, clinicians; provide venues for transformation in health care by offering educational programs and resources toward the advancement of law, regulation, policy, and ethics, in emerging models of care; and initiate multi-disciplinary dialogue around the potential for transformational shifts related to the development of integrative care.
